Welcome Back! 08/28/2010 I wish to welcome all the students and staff back to school. As we enter the 2010-2011 school year, we face many challenges. The staff and I look forward to helping our students work through these difficulties on their path to success. It is our goal to graduate all students with the ability to thrive in the career of their choice. We start this year with more options for advanced classes than ever before. The Advanced Placement (AP) courses we are offering this year are taught at college levels and give students the opportunity to prepare themselves for education beyond high school. Due to the increased difficulty of these courses, they carry a higher weight on the class rankings. We encourage all students to challenge themselves with their scheduling choices and to try new directions and experiences. The Cotulla High School administration tries to listen to parent and students concerns and adjust accordingly. With this in mind, we have changed the traffic flow in the parking lot to help improve safety and reduce the wait time for pickups and drop offs. The addition of two pathways across the parking lot allows for a separation between the drop off/pick up zones and the student parking areas. We ask everyone to be patient and follow directions as visitors learn the new pathways. We have addressed many concerns this year. We hope that these changes will help to make Cotulla High School an even safer campus with higher levels of academic achievement. We will continue to examine and update our processes and procedures in an attempt to improve the quality of our graduates even more. Cotulla High School belongs to the Cotulla Independent School District community and we invite you to stop by for a visit. Please let us know what your thoughts, suggestions, and concerns are. Thanks, Dirk D Dykstra, Principal |
