CONGRATULATIONS MCB!

The Mighty Cowboy Band participated at the 14th Annual Hornet Invitational at East Central High School on Saturday September 27th coming home with the Second Place Trophy. The bands colorguard was awarded the “Outstanding Colorguard” Award in Class AAA and the Percussion section, including Pit Percussion and it’s Drumline narrowly missed the “Outstanding Percussion” Award by one point.  Other bands competing in the AAA bracket included; Randolph HS, Poth HS , Nixon Smiley HS, Blanco HS, Marion HS, and Karnes City HS.

Upcoming Marching Contest is Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Mathis High School.

The parade will start at Tilden Street between NMS and RBE it will continue down Tilden street and turn right at the light.  Right again, at Aguero's on Carrizo Street, right again on Kerr Street and end behind the courthouse.  The pep rally will take place in front of the Courthouse.

  • Essay A: Describe a setting in which you have collaborated or interacted with people whose experiences and/or beliefs differ from yours. Address your initial feelings, and how those feelings were or were not changed by this experience.
  • Essay B: Describe a circumstance, obstacle or conflict in your life, and the skills and resources you used to resolve it. Did it change you? If so, how?
  • Essay C: Considering your lifetime goals, discuss how your current and future academic and extra-curricular activities might help you achieve your goals.

The essays should be at least 1 page long.  Save your essays on a USB and then you can copy and paste them to your application. Wendy's High School Heisman Scholarship- Applications from both male and female student athletes who exhibit excellence in the classroom, on the playing field, and within their communities. Eligibility for application is limited exclusively to men and women whose senior year of high school is the 2011–2012 academic year, who have at least a “B” grade average, and participate in at least one of 27 sports. We want to hear from all student athletes who work hard, are dedicated, and have become role models for underclassmen.

Prudential Spirit of Community Award - Open to students enrolled in grades 5-12.

Dr Pepper Tuition Scholarship - Create a sixy second video telling us how you will make an impact on society for your chance to win a college tuition from Dr. Pepper.  Must be a U.S.legal resident and must be 18 years old.

University of Texas at Austin - Students who are interested in attending UT-Austin must apply for admissions and submit a scholarship application.  Scholarship application is available via the Apply Texas Application at www.applytexas.org/  

University of Texas-Pan American, Excellence AwardMost are available to all majors with a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.5 and full-time enrollment status

  • Available to Undergraduate and Graduate students
  • Most require US citizenship or legal permanent resident status. However, International students are still encouraged to apply.
  • Awards vary depending on funds. 
  • Recipients are selected on a competitive basis.

Terry Foundation Scholarship - The Terry Foundation has been extended to 8 universities, Texas State, Texas A&M College Station, UT Austin, University of Houston, University of Texas San Antonio, Texas Tech University, University of Texas - Dallas, and University of Texas North Texas - Denton.

Al's Formal Wear - This year two $1,00 college scholarships will be offered.  Entries are accepted October 15, 2014 through May 31, 2015.
