SWTJC Dual-Credit Mandatory Orientation

All new Southwest Texas Junior College Dual-Credit students are required to attend orientation on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 10:00 am. 

Departure time is 8:00 am.  Arrival time back to CHS is approximately 2:00 pm.

Hello Class of 2015,

The essay topics for Apply Texas are listed below: 

  • Essay A: Describe a setting in which you have collaborated or interacted with people whose experiences and/or beliefs differ from yours. Address your initial feelings, and how those feelings were or were not changed by this experience.
  • Essay B: Describe a circumstance, obstacle or conflict in your life, and the skills and resources you used to resolve it. Did it change you? If so, how?
  • Essay C: Considering your lifetime goals, discuss how your current and future academic and extra-curricular activities might help you achieve your goals.

The essays should be at least 1 page long.  Save your essays on a USB and then you can copy and paste them to your application.  Applications for the Fall 2015 will be available August 1, 2014.  Please make sure that you meet the application deadlines.  If you received an ACT or SAT fee waiver, then you are eligible to receive ACT or SAT application fee waivers.  Just come by Mrs. Maldonado's office. Class Schedules will be mailed to students Friday, August 14, 2014.

Deadline to make a schedule change is Wednesday, August 20, 2014.

Student Classification

Students are classified and promoted each year based on the number of credits. 

Freshmen 0 - 6.5 credits

Sophomores 7 - 13.5 credits

Juniors 14 - 20.5 credits

Seniors 21+ credits
