4th grade students completed a project titled "Monster Match". Monster Match is a long-distance collaboration project between elementary school classes designed to strengthen and enhance students’ writing and communication skills. In this fun and educational writing project, classes are partnered with other classes to create, and recreate monsters. For each “match”, two classrooms are paired up and each class creates a monster using certain materials. The class then write detailed instructions on how to recreate their monster. They share those instructions with their partner class using Google Drive. Each class then tries to recreate the other class’s monster by following the written directions. In the culminating event, both classes then meet via Google Hangouts to compare the original monsters with the recreated monsters.
